A "proxy" is the technical name for one of Slender Man's followers. There is a theory that when Slender Man takes you, you become one of his "proxies". They, (like Slender Man), can have the ability to cause camera distortions. They will also (occasionly) wear masks (e.g. Masky, Hoodman/Hoody, Deadhead, etc.)
